Overview

The Keywords page (/keywords) lets you define the terms and phrases you care about for AI visibility. Keywords anchor monitoring, prompt generation, insights, and conversation discovery throughout Obsurfable.

You can add keywords manually or use Generate more to get AI suggestions based on your company profile.

Prerequisites

  • A saved Company profile with name, URL, and overview
  • A starter list of terms (optional — AI can suggest some for you)

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Keywords from the dashboard or open /keywords.
  2. In the Keywords field, type a term and press Enter or click Add.
  3. Repeat for each keyword you want to track. Remove any tag by clicking the × on its pill.
  4. Click Generate more to request AI keyword suggestions based on your company context.
  5. When suggestions appear, click individual items to add them, or use Add all to accept the full list.
  6. Click Save to persist your keyword list.

Keywords are used alongside Use cases when Obsurfable builds prompts and evaluates visibility.

Tips

  • Mix head terms and long-tail phrases. Include both category labels (for example, "email API") and specific intents (for example, "transactional email for startups").
  • Use buyer language, not internal jargon. Keywords should match how people ask AI assistants, not your internal roadmap names.
  • Run Generate more after updating your company profile. Better context produces better suggestions.
  • Quality over quantity. A focused list of 10–20 strong terms often outperforms a long unfocused list.
  • Review suggestions critically. Add only terms that reflect real demand you want to win.

How many keywords should I add?

There is no hard limit, but start with your highest-priority terms. You can always expand later with Generate more.

What is the difference between keywords and use cases?

Keywords are terms and phrases people search or ask about. Use cases are outcome-oriented phrases describing what someone achieves with your product (for example, "send transactional email without managing servers").

Does Generate more use my competitors?

Suggestions are primarily based on your company profile. For competitive context, maintain your Competitors list separately.

Do I need to save after adding suggestions?

Yes. Click Save after adding or removing keywords. Suggestions are not saved until you confirm.

Where are keywords used in the app?

Keywords feed prompts, insights, conversations, and related monitor and discover workflows across Obsurfable.
