Multi-company

Switch companies, add new brands, and understand plan limits with the company switcher.

Overview

Obsurfable organizes work by company (brand workspace). The company switcher in the app header lets you move between companies, add new ones, and see upgrade prompts when you hit plan limits. Each company has its own profile, prompts, content, and settings.

Who it's for

  • Agency users managing multiple client brands
  • Pro users with a single company (switcher still shows the current brand)
  • Anyone adding a second brand who needs to understand limits and upgrades

Plan limits

Limits are enforced when you try to Add company. Pro users who need more companies can upgrade to Agency from Settings or the switcher upgrade link.

Prerequisites

  • Signed-in account with an active subscription (or Free plan for your first company)
  • For additional companies beyond Free/Pro limits: Agency plan (or billing-exempt/admin access)

Step-by-step

Switch companies

  1. In the header, click the company name (building icon on desktop).
  2. The menu lists all your companies.
  3. Click another company to switch.
  4. The page reloads with that company's data—prompts, content, and settings are scoped to the selection.

The current company is marked Current in the menu.

Add a company

  1. Open the company switcher menu.
  2. Click Add company (shown when you're under your plan limit).
  3. Obsurfable creates a new empty company and sends you to /onboarding for that brand.
  4. Complete onboarding, then use the switcher to move between brands.

If you're at your limit, you'll see an upgrade prompt instead of Add company—typically linking to /subscribe?plan=pro (Free users) or /settings (Pro → Agency upgrade).

Check your limit

Open /settings under Billing & support. Company limit shows your maximum and upgrade options.

Tips

  • Automations, auto-publish, and usage meters in Settings apply to the active company only.
  • Support tickets record whichever company was selected when you submitted.
  • New companies start fresh—keywords, prompts, and content don't copy from other brands.
  • After switching, bookmark or note which company you're in before making changes.

FAQ

Why does the page reload when I switch?
A full reload ensures every view fetches data for the newly selected company cookie.

Can I delete a company?
Company deletion flows depend on product support; contact /support if you need to remove a workspace.

I'm on Pro—can I have two companies?
Pro allows one company. Upgrade to Agency for up to eight.

Does each company need its own subscription?
No. One subscription covers your account; Agency raises the number of companies on that account.

What happens if I downgrade with multiple companies?
You may need to stay within the lower plan's company limit before downgrading; contact support or reduce companies first.
